Yes, it would. However the instances would be created at fixed intervals, that you set. If you set the step to 10 minutes, it will launch a new instance every 10 minutes, then evaluate how response time has changed as a result. If the response time still does not lower, it simply creates another one 10 minutes later.

Lets pretend response time is set to 1 second. We release a new version of our site that raises the response time to 1.2 seconds due to a above. It could run on a super computer and the response time would still be 1.2 seconds.

Would scalr then start create an unlimited number of instances?

Any ETA on when this will be released to the Open Source repository?

I have a client wishing to use spot instances and I must decide how to achieve that within the next 2 weeks. Currently I'm utilizing the latest (August 09) release of Scalr for their system. If there will be a source update within 2 weeks I'll keep their instances under Scalr control, otherwise I'll have to either fork and re-implement spot-instance support in the Aug09 code-base or abandon Scalr (which I don't want to do, obviously).

Hi there!

Please use the scalr-dicuss group for discussion on the open source project, or support.scalr.net for the SaaS offering.

Cheers,
